Project Officer Prevention First Program
 
  • $108,419 per annum + Superannuation
  • 3 x Fixed term positions, Full time
  • Geelong location

About the role

The Project Officer role is an integral part of the Prevention First program and will be responsible for project delivery within one or more of the following streams, including: fatality prevention (within agriculture, construction & road freight), prevention of hazardous manual handling injury, focusing on the workplaces where most injuries are predicted to occur, supporting Victoria’s network of health and safety representatives and strengthening WorkSafe’s ability to design and deliver culturally intelligent, inclusive and sustainable programs to multicultural communities.

The position will be responsible for:

  • Using project management approaches, processes and tools to plan, develop, manage the governance, deliver and report on programs of work
  • Using stakeholder engagement and partnering approaches to build, broker, connect, convene, develop, negotiate and influence mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including communities
  • Building and maintaining internal and external relationships enabling the influence of WorkSafe employees and external stakeholders to undertake activities and to achieve appropriate outcomes to ensure projects are delivered within critical timeframes

About you

You are an experienced Project Officer with excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate the following skills and experiences,

·        Experience in legislative and regulatory reform and the government sector

·        Ability to clearly scope, project manage and identify activities to develop and maintain impact assessments and project plans to schedule and budget

·        Demonstrated experience in project management and support to successfully deliver complex projects and to support the implementation of changes emanating from project activities

·        Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word; PowerPoint; Excel)

·        Experience in innovation or human-centred design will be highly regarded
