Senior Analytics Consultant
  • $120,109 per annum + superannuation

If you share our passion, we are seeking a Senior Analytics Consultant. This position sits in the Prevention Analytics team in Business Analytics, and is responsible for the provision of quantitative analysis, advice and reporting on performance trends, projects and initiatives, and identifying emerging risk and opportunities.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Taking a leadership role in the production of regular insights from conducting statistical analyses
  • Providing Subject Matter Expertise on the distillation of complex analytics and insights in an easy to understand manner for executive stakeholders
  • Provide guidance, and advice to other analysts to ensure our analytical models and subsequent insights meet our agreed standards.
  • Taking a leadership role in analytics projects and initiatives including responsibility for delivering key components
  • Lead the development and provision of analytical services including working with stakeholders in other business units to articulate business problems into technical requirements and/or specifications and data driven insights and recommendations
  • Delivering guidance and advice that allows others to conduct performance measurement and program evaluation and leading responses to ad hoc requests for statistical analyses and insights

About you

You have strong interpersonal skills to support appropriate internal and external networks and relationships with the ability to lead stakeholder engagement activities to collect, identify and articulate stakeholder requirements.

Additional Skills & Experience

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, undertake effective research and analysis and produce complex statistical models
  • Ability to present insights statistically, visually, and in easy-to-understand language.
  • Well-developed report writing and presentation skills to engage senior stakeholders
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to negotiate and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously with limited guidance when required
  • Demonstrated ability to support other analysts and quality check their output
  • Extensive knowledge of key data sources and core systems
  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • Programming experience within Python & SQL and/or similar languages (R, SAS, SPSS)
  • A strong knowledge of and experience using data visualisation and reporting tools in day-to-day work (e.g. SAS VA, QlikSense) including experience designing, developing and implementing new initiatives
  • Advanced statistical, quantitative and/or financial modelling skills combined with a demonstrated capacity to innovate in developing solutions to business challenges.


  • Tertiary qualification (e.g. Statistics, Business, Computer Science) and relevant experience
