Return to Work Inspector
 
  • $99,794 per annum + Superannuation
  • Full time, Fixed Term Position (August 2022)
  • Melbourne CBD Location

About the role

The RTW Inspector will be responsible for inspecting workplaces to ensure compliance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (WIRC Act) and will, where required, use education and enforcement of workers compensation legislation to achieve greater RTW outcomes. You will need to make on-the-spot decisions regarding compliance or next steps and have the ability to independently manage your own time and work.

  • You will have the ability to provide an effective response to high risk issues/ problems
  • You will be liaising with employers, Agents, and Injured workers in order to determine the outcome of an employer’s compliance or in order to assist with the provision of information on the injured worker’s case
  • You also have the ability to undertake accountabilities within the authority of the relevant legislation & organisational policies and procedures.
  • Finally, you use your ability to influence compliance and to provide expert advice to external stakeholders

About you

  • You have a knowledge of the RTW obligations as detailed under the Act in Victoria
  • You also have a demonstrated ability to liaise in a professional manner with a diverse internal and external client/stakeholder group in a variety of situations
  • You have highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Finally, you have excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines
