Government Services Co-ordinator
 
  • $80,981 per annum + Superannuation

About the role

Reporting into the Manager, Government Services, the Government Services Coordinator works within the Government Services team to deliver effective government and external stakeholder relations, and communications to support WorkSafe Victoria. This role will work closely with the Minister’s Office, internal stakeholders and other External Affairs teams to coordinate Ministerial, Parliamentary and Corporate related correspondence and liaison requirements.  This role will also be responsible for:

  • Management and oversight internal and external communications and the provision of secretariat support for inter departmental committees
  • Research and writing of Chief Executive and Ministerial briefs and correspondence
  • Provision of specialist assistance to stakeholders across Worksafe and support to the Government Services team also including delivering high quality and timely information and advice to the Minister’s Office, Parliament and other Government Agencies

About you

You are an experienced coordinator with excellent time management skills. You are highly organised and take pride in your work. You have highly developed communication skills with the demonstrated ability to prepare concise briefing documents, reports and communications to internal and external stakeholders.  You will also possess:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administration support role preferably in a politically sensitive and policy rich environment
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word & Excel) and e-records
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritise and exercise discretion
  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline, such as, politics, public policy, communications, journalism or public relations will be highly regarded
